The Senate releases its version of the Plan

The text can be found here (.pdf). The Senate still plans to vote on the bill this evening, according to the New York Times.

Update (10.1.2008)

Bernie Sanders proposed an amendment (.pdf) to the Plan which would tax the wealthy to pay for the bailout (via David Sirota and Digby). Unfortunately, the amendment will be put to a voice vote.

Naked Capitalism gives the new Plan a 'thumbs down' for including tax breaks and pork barrel give-a-ways.

It appears the Senate has taken an appallingly corrupt bill and multiplied the corruption contained therein.
